Enchantment Resort located in Boynton Canyon is steeped in history by the Native Americans as a sacred place for healing. The Apache name for the canyon is Che Ah Chi. Homesteader John Boeington was one of the first settlers in the canyon, therefore, his name became associated with the canyon name.

Miners, homesteaders, and Native Americans have all lived in between these canyon walls. Later, it was owned by a Montana rancher, then by the literary secretary of Western novelist Zane Grey, then later in the mid-twentieth century by a resident that built a 9,000-square-foot mansion in the area. This southwestern adobe-style resort blends naturally in the canyon surroundings giving it a timeless quality. Finally, in 1987, tennis legend John Gardiner opened his Tennis Ranch on the beautiful grounds of Boynton Canyon and gained worldwide fame.
